If you want to help the Town, RECYCLE.
Yes, recycling efforts have increased since single stream recycling went
into effect but we can do better. If
all homeowners put out more recyclables than trash the recycling fee’s
coming back to the town would increase.
It costs the Town $92/ton
for disposal but the Town makes $22/ton for recycling.
Help bring revenue back to the town by recycling, recycling, recycling.
(from the Patriot Ledger 22 October 2010: 17,800
households receive trash pick up; 19,951 tons of trash have been picked up
so far in 2010; 3,258 tons of recyclables have been collected; it has cost
the town $2.4 million to collect the trash; $1.6 million raised from trash
fees.)

Greenbush Year Three
Anniversary Report
The Empty Delegas Buildings
Delagas submitted a Request for Determination of
Applicability and went before the Con Com on 14 April 2010. He received a
positive 3 determination which means he has to file a Notice of Intent before
he can get an Order of Conditions. There are still a number of questions and
concerns outstanding. The integrity of the culvert under the Brick Grille building
is in question. Delegas has some work to do before he can demolish the
buildings. It doesn’t look like the buildings will be coming down anytime
soon.
Greenbush Year Two Anniversary Report
82 Broad Street
